Our Why

Building a place where kids can be themselves and grow in their faith

In honor of Arch and Edwina Lyle’s vision, the purpose of Lylewood Christian Camp is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that fosters spiritual growth and encourages the building of eternal relationships. In alignment with this purpose, the mission of Lylewood’s leadership is to steward God-given resources wisely, continually improving and maintaining the camp’s facilities to better fulfill our calling and serve those who come through our gates.

Lylewood Camps

Lylewood offers a variety of week-long camps each summer, as well as retreats in the spring and summer, all open to individuals of all backgrounds. Each camp and retreat is led by dedicated members of the Church of Christ.

Rent Lylewood

Lylewood is an ideal rental destination for larger churches and organizations, offering a spacious setting for camps, retreats, leadership summits, and volunteer opportunities.

Donate to Lylewood

Lylewood is a 100% donation-funded organization. Every contribution from our generous donors enables us to do everything from keeping the lights on to undertaking vital renovations, ensuring we can continue serving our mission effectively.

Lylewood History

Arch & Edwina Lyle

Lylewood exists today thanks to the generous donation of 17 acres by Arch and Edwina Lyle in 1966. Their vision was to create a place where young people could learn the Gospel and form lasting relationships. We proudly carry on their dream by continually building and growing Lylewood into a space that serves our community. Today, we host camps for local churches and rent our campgrounds to larger congregations, all with the shared purpose of spreading the Gospel and expanding the Kingdom.

What Our Campers Are Saying

Lylewood feels like my second home because of the incredible friendships I’ve built there. It’s a place where I’m surrounded by people eager to learn and grow in their faith, and there’s no better way to do that than together at camp. From endless laughter to deepening my relationship with God, Lylewood will always hold a special place as my summer home.

Piper Bilbrey

The best part about Lylewood is the people. The love and dedication that people have for this place and devotion to replicating their experience for the generations who are attending camp now and in the future. When you’re at camp you’re surrounded by people who are striving to represent Christ and you leave wanting to do the same.

Emma Bitting

Camp is where I developed my own faith and determined that God is real and I have fallen in love with it. It was the first place I taught a Bible lesson. Camp is where I have matured the most, and where I feel closest to our creator. I love being able to put my phone aside and focus on the “right now” instead of what is to come. I can escape the distractions of the world with my closest family in Christ. Camp is a staple of my faith, camp is home.
