2023 Pick’n & Ribs Dinner Results

Dear Lylewood Family,

ANNOUNCING: We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who had a part in the success of our 7th annual Pickin’ & Ribs fundraising dinner. This year’s dinner resulted in a net benefit to Lylewood Christian Camp of $19,458. We use these funds to upkeep/improve the grounds and facilities each year. Lylewood also has a history of making certain that no camper misses out on Lylewood for a financial reason.

WHY: This dinner has become an important part of our ability to share the story of Lylewood and to encourage young people to live a life dedicated to the Lord. We want you all to know that YOU are part of our Lylewood family. Whether you are a current or former camper, parent, director, counselor, cook, nurse, or supporter; you are a vital part of our mission to share the love of Jesus with the young people in our area.

THANKFULNESS: We love to see the fellowship that occurs each year at Pickin’ and Ribs. We are thankful for all the individuals who bought tickets, attended or picked up and/or donated to the dinner. Thank you to those who sponsored tables and brought your friends, family and neighbors. Thank you to our generous business sponsors, listed below, who contributed to a level that fully covered the cost of the dinner, so that 100% of every ticket sold and every additional dinner donation directly benefits Lylewood’s mission.

Thank you to the young adults who served tables at the dinner. The majority of them are current or former campers.  Isn’t it great to see that they already understand the value of giving back at their age?

Thank you to our speakers, Tom Payne, Cannon Steed, Briley Stone, Garrett Dickerson, and our emcee Andy Cameron.  Their unrehersed thoughts on the Past, Present and Future of Lylewood were encouraging to hear.   The quick willingness of these two current campers to care enough about Lylewood to speak in front of a dinner crowd was very admirable.

Thank you to The Todd County Boys for their generosity of providing an entertaining and top quality bluegrass performance as their gift to support Lylewood.

Thank you to the variety of volunteers who assisted with cooking, plate prep, greeting, set-up, tear-down, clean-up, audio/visual, security, and other hands-on volunteers who helped with all of the details of the evening.

Thank you to the spouses of board members who are so understanding of the planning time that the dinner takes each year and their hands-on helpfulness at the dinner too.

Thank you to the Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing for the use of the venue and being consistent supporters of reaching youth with Christ’s message.

We love you all and treasure your prayers. May God bless you and may God bless Lylewood Christian Camp.
