Camp Schedule Update – June 2020

From The Board of Directors for Lylewood Christian Camp:

After praying and agonizing for weeks about whether it is prudent to hold Lylewood Camp sessions this summer on our regular scheduled dates, we regret to inform our loyal campers, parents, and volunteers that due the ongoing pandemic, we are canceling our weeks in June.  We have monitored state and national guidelines and recommendations, polled our parents, and fervently prayed for guidance in making this decision.  Unfortunately, our directors believe that camp in June is not possible or feasible this year.   HOWEVER, we are currently planning to have two weeks of camp in July.  Camp for grades 6-12 will be July 5th-10th, while the second week of camp for grades 2nd-5th will be July 19th-24th.  You will notice there is a week between camps to allow for additional surface disinfecting.  We also have some long-time favorite directors for these weeks.   Aaron Johnson will direct the middle & high school week, while Jason Allison will direct the “littles” week.

We are setting these dates and trusting a faithful God that we will be able to hold camp these two weeks and that circumstances will allow for normal camp activities and programs. We hope this information will help you plan your summer vacations and activities and still allow you to send your children to Lylewood.  This has been a trying year for all of us and we have taken none of these actions lightly, nor will we in the future.  Please pray for Lylewood and continue to support this ministry in every way possible.  Although the situation is not ideal, it is our best hope for this part of summer that your children look forward to each year.

This is currently our plan, but of course it is subject to change or cancellation if unforeseen circumstances, regulations of events, or the safety of our children require us to cancel or modify our sessions.

We pray God’s blessing on each of our faithful camp families and have made all our decisions with the utmost love for your children and their safety.  We hope to see you in July!
